About Dr. Mariam Awada

Dr. Mariam Awada was the first female to complete an integrated Plastic Surgery residency at the prestigious University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas (also known as the “Harvard of Plastic Surgery”). Dr. Awada holds dual Bachelor of Science degrees. She obtained her medical degree with distinction from Wayne State University of Medicine where she graduated in the top ten of her class. She has worked alongside world-renowned plastic surgeons reconstructing devastating injuries. Further, she also worked with the forerunners of cosmetic surgery rejuvenating the looks of top Hollywood celebrities.

Dr. Awada belongs to a number of prestigious medical and honor societies including the American Medical Association, Association of Women Surgeons, American Society of Plastic Surgeons, American Medical Women’s Association, and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgeons. She has been a guest speaker for numerous local television and radio programs. She has given presentations at hospital and community organizations discussing plastic surgery advancements. Further, she serves as a Clinical Instructor of Plastic Surgery and has published articles in many medical journals.
